This was meant to be a flat colour traditional, bought by Laruefoxtail(on FA) for her friend Kitchenmanx3(also on FA)'s birthday :D! buuuut, 1. I got a little carried away and 2, I've misplaced over half of my markers, so I had to make up the purple with my pencils anyway!
So, this is Sam, the purple maine coon <3 I loove doing sunsetty/twilighty skies so much, and just thought it suited the air of the "don't dream it, be it" quote and song :3
Hope you like! Karisma pencils and Promarkers on card
this is so pretty and soothing. i'm so pleased to see some pencils! you, girl are the best in my eyes in that media! she's a lovely character and the pallet is perfect. i think it looks great with the mixed.
I really love the shape of the hand in the tail. Its like really grabbing and curling into the fluff. I loove it.
I think its good you lost your markers, because the shading on the body with the pencils looks so gorgeous. It adds a light depth (that makes sense, shush) that you probably couldn't have gotten with markers.
you're right, I wouldn't have had I just used markers! It did mean that this was then a bit more shaded than a flat colour commission, but I dunno, sometimes I think it's okay to go a bit further with it if the piece calls for it. I think markers would have given this a very different feel. Thankee again!
I really love this! The colors all really pop against that ( super amazingly shaped) background. Also your "full body" figures are amazing and I wish you would draw them more!
I really do love drawing full figured ladies - I'm just rarely commissioned for them these days, and if I'm ever drawing for me, I've got the androgyny obsession stuck on Neko, so the curves have dwindled a bit! Thank you so so much for your lovely comments <3
Gosh she sure is pretty!! I love her body shape. She's so round and soft looking. o uo The background is gorgeous too. I like how it's blended. It's not over blended to the point of uncanny realism, but it's blended enough to stylize the colors. I find that stylized blending look suits these dreamy sky feeling pictures.
Also those headphones are genius idea haha. I always love how anthro artists re-design everyday objects to suit anthros. It's probably my favorite thing about anthro art. XD

Haha, the over the ear hook headphones are actually inspired by a pair I had as a teenager which I loved :3
