This here is the massive traditional piece I've been working on for a while :3 It's a commission for and has just the loveliest story so I had the best time working on it <3!
It's made from 2 pictures, both A4, and in it's most basic description it's a theme depicting loneliness, with the book and it's colourful fantasy tales being an escape, rushing towards the idea of hope for the future. I was told I could go as free or as detailed as I wanted, so, you can imagine which one I went with.
I'm disappointed with the scan, but I almost always am. ~meizakat can be the judge when they receive it, but the shading in some places is not quite so harsh in reality (especially on oranges and reds. Scanners seem to hate orange and red!)
I do hope you like the outcome of this :3 Promarkers, Karisma Pencils on card.
EDIT: A DD??!?!?! Omfg, thank you so, so much for suggesting it and for featuring it, you have absolutely made my day! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
I realize I'm months late in noticing, but congratulations on the DD!
I've just spent the last I don't know how long reading through all the comments this has received, and it's heartwarming to know so many can relate to this story. Everyone who has pointed out their favourite parts has made me smile, and I enjoy reading the different variations of interpreting it. Your execution was spot on. I am still blown away by this piece and the amount of awesome you poured in to it, and I thank you profusely once more.
This is still one of my absolute favourites - and I am loving everyone's own associations with this, their memories and their hopes. I am still so happy that you picked me for this
Goodness, this is wonderful. So many colours and characters! I would hope they will cheer the poor reader up in her grey world. I'm intrigued by her story now too.
